Given that MS is cracking down on poor Russians (which is weird since rampant piracy of their products only serves to promote their monopoly), I would've thought that some open source vendor would jump in to rescue Mr. Ponosov (head of school master in rural Russia charged with stealing software).
Seems like RH, Novell or Canonical(?) would come in and say, "We'll pay your $10,000 in fees to MS but will also give you free software for your whole school district." Sounds like some good cheap marketing once the news people pick it up....
(The Steve could one up everyone and say not only does he hate DRM, he supports free (gratis) software.... as long as you buy the hardware)
